Information Sharing Aims

A child requiring specialised services may currently be assessed by a range of agencies. If information is not shared appropriately no one will have a full picture of a child’s needs.

Information Sharing is vital to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. A key factor in many serious case reviews has been a failure to record and share information.

Information Sharing is also a critical part of the Common Assessment Framework, (CAF). This is an assessment tool shared across services to avoid children and families having to tell and retell their stories to different practitioners.
